George Skarpathiotis, MD (Founder and Chief Administrator)

Dr. George was born in Istanbul, Turkey and raised in Athens, Greece. He attended medical school at the University of Athens in Greece. Dr. George then came to the States and completed his residency in Illinois at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center (now, Rush University Medical Center). In 2012, Dr. George received the award Top Doctor from Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Children’s Hospital as well as from New York Times. In 2014 he received the Physician Excellence Award in primary care from Advocate Children’s Hospital. In 2015 he received the Patient’s Choice Award and the Compassionate Doctor Recognition. His interests in pediatrics is Attention Deficit Disorder. When Dr. George is not busy treating patients he enjoys traveling and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Dr zoe

Zoe Alikakos, MD (Medical Director)

Dr. Zoe was born in Chicago, raised in Greece, and returned to Chicago in 1987. Dr. Zoe attended medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then completed her residency at Advocate Children’s Hospital- Park Ridge (formerly Lutheran General Hospital). During her residency she received awards such as outstanding senior resident, and served as chief resident for the program. Her special areas of interest within pediatrics are Asthma and Allergies. When Dr. Zoe is not busy treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, participating in Greek-American community functions, and church functions. She is a proud mother of twin boys.

Dr stratos

Stratos Skarpathiotis, MD

Dr. Stratos was born in our very own Oak Lawn, IL and has stayed in the Chicagoland area his entire career. He completed high school in Hinsdale, IL and then went on to the University of Chicago for undergraduate studies in Chemistry. He completed medical school at Loyola University followed by his pediatric residency at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn (formerly Hope Children’s Hospital) in 2019. He joined our practice in July of 2019. The middle son of Dr. George, Dr. Stratos enjoys cooking, exploring the city of Chicago, and all things soccer in his free time.

Dr joseph

Kevin Joseph, MD

Dr. Joseph was born in Chicago and raised in Milwaukee. He attended medical school at the Chicago Medical School and then completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He joined Dr. George’s practice after completing his residency in 2016. He is particularly interested in Adolescent Medicine. When Dr. Joseph is not busy treating patients he enjoys watching sports, going to concerts, and trying new restaurants. He is a proud uncle to a 4 year old niece.

Rachel

Rachel Holcomb, DO

Dr. Rachel Holcomb was born and raised in Spanish Fort, Alabama. She attended medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and then went on to complete her residency at the University of Florida at Orlando Health. Her area of interest in pediatrics is pulmonology, behavioral problems, newborn care, and adolescent care. When she is not treating patients, she spends her time cooking, travelling, and exploring new areas of Chicago since she is new to the city.

Saira

Saira Syed, DO

Saira Syed, DO, was born in Pakistan and moved to the suburbs of Chicago at the age of 12 years. She attended medical school at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, IL and then completed her residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center. During her residency, Dr. Saira received the Inter of the Year award at UIC. Her interest in pediatrics is Neurology. When Dr. Saira is not busy treating patients she loves to travel, likes to go flying with her brother who is a private pilot, and enjoys baking and paining in her free time.

Dr janet

Janet Majewski MD

Dr. Janet was born in Chicago and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. She received her MD from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and complete her Pediatric Residency at Loyola University Medical Center’s Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital in Maywood, IL. She joined the practice in May 2018, following 15 years of experience in private practice in Aurora, IL. Her areas of interest include all areas of general pediatrics including newborn and well child care, treating asthma and allergies, and childhood infectious diseases. Dr. Janet is a proud mother of two, and enjoys being a spectator at her son and daughter’s athletic events. She also enjoys baking and reading in her free time.

Karen

Karen Johnson

Karen was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago. She completed her nursing degree at St. Xavier University and her nurse practitioner degree at Rush University. She has been a nurse for over 12 years with experience in Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery and the Pediatric Emergency Department. Karen has been working in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Hope since 2017 and you can still find her there on the weekends. Karen joined our practice in 2018 and can’t wait to meet you!! Areas of interest include: prenatal education, newborn care, lactation and adolescent care. Karen has three young children and a husband that keep her busy when she isn’t working. Some of her hobbies include: spending time with her family, reading, gardening, exercising and baking.
